The theater play MJ is based on a book written by Lynn Nottage, who has won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama twice, as well as a library of Michael Jackson's signature music. This show based on the "King of Pop" has been performed on Broadway to critical acclaim. The musical's score will includes 25 of Michael Jackson's most famous songs, such as "Beat It," "Billie Jean," and "Thriller." The global tour that Michael Jackson completed in 1992 under the moniker "Dangerous" is used as the musical’s main story to give an in-depth look at Jackson's creative efforts and all the major events that occurred during his career, commencing with his time in The Jackson 5 and going through his solo success. This production has been nominated for a whopping ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Leading Actor in a Musical for Myles Frost, who is making his Broadway premiere as the pop singer in this show. Christopher Wheeldon was also considered for a Tony Award in both the director and choreography categories.
